False Prophets

For all my prophetic brothers and sisters in the US who haven’t experienced next level prophetic shenanigans in Africa, let me catch you up to speed. Here’s a few peculiar manifestations in the last several years I’ve come across:

1. The Grass Prophet- this prophet tested his followers’ submission by commanding them to eat grass with the goats. And most of them did.

2. The Gasoline Prophet- this prophet commanded his followers to drink gasoline. And many of them did.

3. The Kissing Prophet- this prophet imparted the anointing through kissing women in his ministry. And most of them complied. Except I never saw video coverage of him kissing the less attractive ones. Apparently this manifestation only worked with the fine foxy females.

4. The Photoshop Prophet- this prophet would display signs and wonders on video after he cut and pasted numerous miraculous events into the video. And 1000’s believed him and were duped by him into sowing vast amounts of money into his ministry before he got kicked out of South Africa. He was also notorious for researching info on people and supposedly getting words of knowledge about them while wearing an earpiece that enabled him to hear the info from his researchers. Just another type of cutting and pasting info into the prophetic. And people believed him.

BTW, these are all examples of false prophets. But before you get all self righteous, let’s talk about the US version of these guys. Although these types of false prophets are rare in the US, we have our own issues. Here’s a few I’ve come across.

1. The Money Prophet- this prophet targets wealthy people to prophesy to in hopes their money will find its way into their pockets when their heart is touched by flattery. Another version actually charges prior to people receiving prophetic words.

2. The Sex Prophet- this prophet flaunts their gift to impress others and doesn’t find it offensive to live a sexually impure lifestyle in the dark as long as they function in their gifts under the lights.

3. The Power Hungry Prophet- this prophet will do whatever it takes to rub elbows with influential people to get favors, take photo-ops and leverage relationships for their advantage.

4. The Hypocritical Prophet- this prophet is good at pointing the finger at sin in the lives of others but not so good at owning up to their own issues.

5. The Rebellious Prophet- this prophet expects others to submit his words but refuses to be accountable to anybody.

May I submit that these are just as false as the African versions? The false prophets in the US might not be as blatant as the African false prophets, but they’ve probably done more damage to the body of Christ. May God give us the discernment to recognize wolves in sheep clothing before we get duped! And may God give you the ability to trust again if you’ve been burnt in the past. True prophets do exist!

BTW, the picture above is the cover for a 2 part MP3 series that will help you see before your head is in the throat of a wolf. Discernment is key! To access this series click here: https://kingdomculture.life/store/Discerning-Wolves-in-Sheep%E2%80%99s-Clothing-MP3-download-p127432099
